Kate joined WWT in early 2024. She brings more than 25 years of experience leading and advising cyber security, technology, innovative AI strategies and teams to help shape the industry with better business security and risk decisions.
Kate is passionate about developing new ways to enhance and secure our world through emerging technologies and also developing world-class people and companies. Her love for the industry is reflected through her career journey. She has strived for comprehensive understanding of all facets of the cyber ecosystem, purposefully executing multiple roles across her career from CISO, CEO, Board of Director, Advisor, CRO, and CTrO (Chief Trust Officer). Across her career she has worked for companies including Aon, BT Group plc, Verizon, and a number of cyber security early stage companies. In addition, she currently serves on the Board of Directors for HYAS, the Cybermaniacs, and the NTSC. The culmination of her experience ensures Kate always brings expertise and a fresh perspective on emerging trends within technology.
Early in her career, she had the opportunity to work with and lead some of the most innovative technologies that have shaped our industries. She led some of the industry’s first projects in DDOS, Ethernet as a network (CPA), SaaS and IaaS, and was on the front line with some of the earliest attacks against the financial services markets. This early exposure to the impact cyber has on our global community shaped her quest for making the world a safer place, which is still at the core of her professional journey.
Kate is a trusted advisor, thought leader, speaker, published author, and mentor. Currently, her main area of expertise focuses on the collaboration of Risk Executives and Boards to achieve a successful and secure integrated cyber risk management program in this new normal of ever-changing regulations in this elevated threat landscape. Kate also has expertise in the correlation between security, traditional IT initiatives and the implications of AI.
Kate and her family split time between Tucson, Arizona and Long Lake, Illinois. She is an avid hiker and sailor, and she and her family can usually be found outdoors, when she is not behind the wheel of her trusty minivan taking her five children to multiple sports practices and games.
Chris is working over at World Wide Technology, and has been lurking around our industry since before its inception (the lack of hair helping to identify this). His most recent projects have been focused within the aerospace, deception, deepfake, identity, cryptography, AI/AdversarialAI, and services sectors.
Over the years, he's founded or worked with numerous organizations specializing in human research, data intelligence, transportation, cryptography, and deception technologies. These days he’s working on spreading risk, maturity, collaboration, and communication messaging across the industry. (Likely while coding his augmented EEG driven digital clone that’s monitoring his Internet usage, and tea and biscuit consumption!)
When not working he can be found in Eureka, Missouri charging round the countryside on a mountain bike, or hunkered down with the kids experimenting on ways to take over the planet. From an observability perspective he’s large, hairy, often wears a kilt, and can be found on stage with a cuppa tea in hand trying to explain to audiences why they must ask more questions before clicking life’s big red button.
Greg Foss is a seasoned cybersecurity leader with over 15 years of experience spanning threat research, security operations, and offensive security. As the Engineering Manager of Threat Detection Engineering at Datadog, he leads a team of elite threat hunters and detection engineers, developing cutting-edge defenses against sophisticated cloud-native intrusions by nation-state and criminally motivated adversaries. His team transforms deep research and intelligence into actionable security insights, strengthening Datadog’s security platform.
